Abstract

Introduction: Nowadays in all human societies, sport is considered as a human-training matter, which often occurs in sport fields. Many people, including students in schools, occasionally deal with these fields. Therefore, a standard tool is required to frequently inspection of sport fields. The aim of this study was to standardize checklists for sport fields in schools.

.

Material and Method: This study is a kind of tool and technique evaluation was done in Zanjan in 2013. The studied population included indoor and outdoor sport fields in governmental boys’ high schools in Zanjan city. The checklists’ items selected based on existing regulations, standards and relevant studies. Standardization of all tools was done applying the face and content validity and reliability tests.

.

Result: The primary checklist for outdoor sport fields in high schools, which considered by the expert panel, consisted of 75 items. Based on CVI (2 to 3.9) and CVR (.5 to .78), modifications were done and 6 more items were added. And the same process for the primary checklist for outdoor sports fields (85 items) was repeated. Based on CVI (2 to 3.9) and CVR (.5 to .78), items increased to 92.

 .

Conclusion: The safety checklist for sport fields in schools are matched with the properties of them. The safety checklist developed in this study has an acceptable reliability and validity for useful applying in sport field inspections.

Abstract

Introduction. The effect of exercise program on the prevention of upper extremities musculoskeletal disorders has attracted the attention of researchers. On the other hand, in assembly workers, the risk of these disorders increases because the part of the body is used successively and without rest. The current study investigates the effect of 8 weeks of Kinesio Taping and sport program on grip endurance in female assembly workers of an electrical piece industrial manufacturer.
Materials and Methods. The current study was used a descriptive-analytic, cross-sectional method among 40 female assembly workers. Participants are exercised and used Kinesio taping for two times per week at eight weeks. The endurance of the grip was determined before and after the intervention by a dynamometer and the maximum time (in seconds) that one was able to continue one third of the maximum voluntary contraction. The DASH questionnaire was used to assess upper limb extremities’ disability. Data were analyzed using SPSS Ver.20 and the P value was considered smaller than 0.05.
Results. In the present study, the mean of right and left hand grip endurance in kinesio type and exercise group before intervention were obtained 10.55 and 9.51, whereas, related results after intervention were obtained 20.55 and 16.18, respectively. Also the score of upper limb disability in kinesio type and exercise group before intervention were obtained 10.55 and 9.51 and after intervention obtained 20.55 and 16.18, respectively(P <0.05).
Conclusion. According to the results, sport exercise and kinesio taping, lead to the increase in the grip endurance time and decrease in the upper limb disability.

Introduction: Long-term exposure to hand-arm vibration causes musculoskeletal disorders mainly in hand and shoulder. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of sport and using anti-vibration gloves on the grip strength of workers exposed to the hand-arm vibration.
Material and Methods: In this descriptive-interventionist study, 41workers working in one of the Isfahan metal industries were studied. Data were collected by the demographic questionnaire, hand-arm vibration acceleration measurement was performed based on the ISO 5349 standard and grip strength was measured using the dynamometer device model Jamar. The investigations were performed on 3 groups including sporting moves, using of anti-vibration gloves and combination of sporting move and using of gloves. Twenty workers were selected as control group without exposure to any hand-arm vibration. Data were analyzed by the SPSS-21 software.
Results: Workers’ grip strength difference was significant before and after vibration (PValue<0.001) and grip strength had significant and inverse relation with vibration (PValue<0.001, R= -0.411). Grip strength was higher in the group that used anti-vibration gloves accompanied with the sporting moves compared to before the intervention and significant relation was observed (PValue<0.001).
Conclusion: Vibration affects decreasing in grip strength and grip strength itself can be used as a screening measure for those workers exposed to the risk and diseases related to the vibration. Regular sporting moves and using anti-vibration gloves are effective on improvement of workers’ grip strength and preventing vibration-induced complications.
